Our Journey Towards GCCF Affiliation
The Ragdoll Breed Association is an independent breed club that is working towards future affiliation with the Governing Council of the Cat Fancy (GCCF).
What is GCCF?
The GCCF is the United Kingdom’s leading governing body for pedigree cats. It sets standards for:
Breed standards
Registration and pedigrees
Cat shows and judging
Welfare and breeding practices
What does “striving for GCCF affiliation” mean?
It means that our club is working to meet the standards required to become formally recognised as a GCCF-affiliated breed club.
This includes:
Building a strong and active membership
Operating with clear governance and transparency
Maintaining accurate records and financial accounts
Promoting responsible breeding and cat welfare
Supporting the Ragdoll breed in line with recognised standards
Our current status
We are currently an independent club and are not yet affiliated with GCCF.
Affiliation is a process that typically takes several years and requires evidence of stability, growth, and good governance.
Why we are working towards affiliation
Becoming GCCF affiliated will:
Give our members a recognised voice within the cat fancy
Allow us to contribute to breed development and standards
Strengthen our credibility and reputation
Support responsible breeding and welfare practices
Our commitment
We are committed to building a professional, ethical, and supportive breed club that reflects the values of the wider cat fancy community.
We will continue to develop the club step-by-step with the long-term goal of achieving GCCF affiliation.
Thank you for supporting us on this journey.
