Moonsky Ragdolls

Our Breeding Philosophy

At our cattery, we are deeply committed to the responsible, ethical breeding of Ragdoll cats, with the health, temperament, and welfare of every cat at the heart of everything we do.

We are a licensed breeder and fully registered with the Governing Council of the Cat Fancy, adhering strictly to their rules, registration policies, and Code of Ethics. Our breeding programme is carefully planned, with a strong focus on genetic health, sound temperament, and preserving the true characteristics of the Ragdoll breed.

All of our breeding cats are health tested in line with current recommendations, including screening for known hereditary conditions such as HCM. We maintain detailed health records and are always transparent with our kitten owners, providing full documentation and ongoing support.

Our kittens are raised in a loving home environment, where they receive constant care, socialisation, and exposure to everyday life. This ensures they develop into confident, well-adjusted companions. We do not overbreed our queens, and every decision is made with their long-term welfare in mind.

We take great care in selecting homes for our kittens, offering guidance and support to owners throughout their journey. Our responsibility does not end at the point of sale — we remain committed to every kitten we breed for life.

Our aim is simple: to produce healthy, happy, well-socialised Ragdolls, bred with integrity, knowledge, and genuine care for the future of the breed.

Showing is an important part of our breeding programme as it ensures our cats are regularly assessed against the Ragdoll breed standard. We regularly exhibit at GCCF shows and are proud to have produced two Grand Champion males and a Grand Champion female. We look forward to showing our young cats as they mature and progress into the adult classes from nine months of age.

Our Kittens

Our kittens are raised in our home as part of the family, where they receive constant care, attention, and socialisation from an early age. They are accustomed to everyday household sounds, people, and routine activity, which helps them grow into confident, affectionate, and well-adjusted cats.

The health and welfare of our kittens is extremely important to us, and we follow a structured programme to ensure they have the best possible start in life.

All kittens:

  • Are fully vaccinated before leaving for their new homes

  • Are microchipped in line with current regulations

  • Receive regular worming treatments as kittens

  • Are health checked by a veterinary surgeon prior to leaving

  • Are litter trained and fully weaned

  • Are well socialised and handled daily

  • Leave with a comprehensive kitten information pack

  • Are GCCF registered (Non-Active unless otherwise agreed)

Our kittens do not leave for their new homes before 13 weeks of age. This is very important for their development, as the time spent with their mother and littermates helps them learn important social behaviours, confidence, and independence. Staying with their mother until at least 13 weeks also ensures they are fully weaned, properly vaccinated, and physically and emotionally ready for their new homes.

When our kittens leave, they come with:

  • GCCF registration documentation

  • Pedigree

  • Vaccination record

  • Microchip details

  • Diet and care information

  • A sales contract

  • Ongoing breeder support and advice

We remain available to support our kitten owners for the lifetime of the cat and are always happy to offer advice or assistance whenever needed.

Our aim is to ensure that every kitten leaves us healthy, confident, well-socialised, and fully prepared for life in their new home.
